Effie Beccles

Co-Founder and Director of Operations

Effie is a Co-Founder of Core Prospects and its Director of Operations, providing strategic oversight of the performance, quality and safety of services across the organisation.

With 45 years experience in health and social care, a BA in Community Care Management and a Diploma in Social Work, Effie’s career has spanned local authority adult social care and NHS services. As a social worker and senior practitioner, Effie held responsibility for assessment, Care Act duties, safeguarding and hospital flow, developing a strong understanding of how Local Authorities and NHS Trusts commission, monitor and review care and support.

Having seen first-hand the gaps in provision for people with complex needs in underserved communities, Effie helped build Core Prospects around a supported living model that places community integration, choice and independence at its heart. The focus is on working alongside individuals to develop everyday living skills, build confidence, strengthen community connections and progressively reduce reliance on formal support wherever appropriate, with the ultimate aim of enabling each person to achieve the greatest possible level of independence.

As Director of Operations, Effie oversees the organisation’s operating model, working closely with the Head of Operations to set standards for person-centred support planning, risk management, staffing and supervision. Effie also provides executive leadership for the mobilisation of new supported living services and works with commissioners across multiple Local Authorities and NHS organisations to ensure services remain safe, effective, well-led and focused on measurable outcomes for the people Core Prospects supports.

Leon leads on business planning and growth, financial sustainability and workforce strategy, ensuring the organisation has the structures, people and resources needed to develop sustainably.

Under Leon’s leadership, Core Prospects has become a trusted provider of complex needs support, working with Local Authorities and NHS commissioners including Harrow, Brent, Hillingdon, Westminster, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Hertfordshire and Belfast, among others. Leon has placed technology at the heart of the operating model, directing the development of a bespoke care management system that gives the leadership team real-time visibility of performance, outcomes and risk.

Leon leads the organisation’s finance and HR functions, with responsibility for financial planning, budgets, forecasting, cash flow, financial controls and sustainable growth, alongside organisational structure, senior recruitment, workforce planning, employment processes, management development and training. Our Support Workers

All our staff receive mandatory training and are required to complete the Care Certificate (Skills for care) as part of their induction programme. We believe in values-based recruitment to match the needs of our Service Users taking into consideration the diverse make up of our community. We are committed to investing in the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of our staff, with the aim that all achieve at least a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

We work with BILD to provide the necessary training such as Positive Behaviour support to enable us to understand and manage behaviour that challenges.

Our Vision Statement

The hopes and dreams of our service users come to fruition, their disabilities no longer a barrier to them having fulfilling and active lives. It is our role to inspire change and enable service users to manage their own lives as independently as possible and develop and use their own abilities.

The future we envision is one where those with disabilities are treated as equals, and they and their families are able to access the support they need – when they need it. A society where social care, supported living and those benefitting from it are truly recognised and valued.
